[Recipe] When Life Gives You...

Lemons...Make iced tea!

Summer. I love summer. I feel at the top of my game at this time of year. As a lover of natural light in my photos, you can understand why.

I want to share with you an iced tea recipe I made last night. I searched and searched over the web for a iced tea recipe which had papaya nectar and could not find one for the life of me! So I made one of my own. Delicious!

Papaya Nectar Iced Tea -

  • 4 tea bags (Lipton's is what I used...Just a plain tea)
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar
  • 2 cups papaya nectar
  • 1 lemon, sliced
Boil 4 cups of water & pour the boiling water over the tea bags. Let brew for 3-5 minutes (depending on how strong you like your tea). There are many ways to brew tea, this is just how I always did it. Add the agave nectar. You might want more or less, depending on how sweet you like your iced tea. Pour the tea over ice or let chill in the refrigerator. When chilled, add the papaya nectar and sliced lemons. Serve.

I used agave nectar because I recently bought some for a salmon dish and wanted to try other uses for it. A lot of people debate over whether or not it is healthful, especially compared to sugar or other sweeteners such as high-fructose corn syrup. Read about both sides of the debate here and here.

I REALLY love fruit flavored teas...And I knew papaya iced tea would be delicious.

If anyone has other ideas, let me know!

PS I have a 30-day photo project going on over on Flickr. Check it out!
